• Who’s a good boy?

Feral Fantasies is a 50-minute choreographic solo by Andreas Haglund that explores submission and domination by embodying two figures, the dog and the dancer. Drawing on the queer subculture of Puppy Play and the artist’s own history of rigorous dance training, the work investigates how submission to training and taming produce obedience. It examines how this discipline domesticates bodies and how to navigate the tension between submission and autonomy.

Armed with a bright green tennis ball and eyes that both command and plead, Haglund engages the audience in a game of fetch, performs agility-inspired dances and revels in the bodily rhythms of queer club dances. Humor, intimacy, and intensity coexist in this performance as the dancer and the dog explore the interplay between control and freedom, ultimately distorting structures of discipline to dance a wild body into life. In this tension, the audience is carried through a performance full of Feral Fantasies.
